FUNDING ADVICE

There are many examples of churches in Hull and East Yorkshire that are involved in activities, which benefit their local communities. In some circumstances the church is able to cover the costs of these activities. However, in most cases, churches that want to be more involved in their local communities need to look for external sources of funding.

Some local churches have gained experience in fundraising and excellent projects have developed as a result.  However many churches report that they have little knowledge of the kind of funding that may be available to them and how to go about accessing it.

SEARCH has been working with the CVS Funding Advice Service to offer support and advice to churches in a variety of ways.

·       help to find appropriate sources of funding;
·        access to the latest funding information via CD ROM and up-to-date directories;
·        help and advice with writing funding applications;
·        funding advice pack specifically for churches
